FEATURED CHURCH ORGAN INSTALLATIONS

Christ Our Light

Cherry Hill, NJ

This new Allen Organ replaced a fully functioning Allen installed some 30+ years ago. It was determined that this would be a good time to replace their older Allen – during the renovation of Church’s interior. This new Allen brings today’s technology, a third keyboard, improved sound quality with Allen’s exclusive sampling, and full MIDI capability.

Our Mother of Consolation

Chestnut Hill, PA

Our Mother of Consolation church recently installed a new Q-370 Allen Organ. The installation consists of the main organ in the Gallery with Swell and Choir divisions available in the front Sanctuary to serve for both Cantor support as well as congregation support and contrasting balance.

Main Line Unitarian Church

Devon, PA

Graftons is pleased to announce the installation of a previously-owned Allen two-manual stop-tab organ in the Main Line Unitarian Church, Devon PA. Played by the director of music Dr. Vincent Craig, Proffessor at West Chester University School of Music, this instrument fills the worship space at Main Line Uniterian with convincingly-real pipe organ sound. One unique feature is the addition of Allen’s new Vista Navaigator which brings hundreds of new sounds and MIDI recording capabilities to their new organ.

Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish

Drexel Hill, PA

Saint Andrews in Drexel Hill is now the new home to an Allen Custom Q-370 organ. This wonderful three-manual instrument sports 58-stops and was built in a special oak finish to contrast the Church’s furniture. Complete with a full Swell Antiphonal and Allen’s Vista Navigator, this organ fills this music-friendly worship space every week under the capable direction of Mr. Jerry Troy.  Over recent years St. Andrew’s was faced with the ever-increasing burden of maintaining their old Moller organ. After many years of faithful service  Msgr. Albin J. Grous and committee members decided to replace their instrument with this Allen Organ. Most organists recognize the value of a reputable organ. A point often overlooked is how the lifespan of an Allen organ is similar to that of a quality pipe organ – an important consideration in an increasingly high-tech world filled with throw-away electronic organs.

Part of this instrument’s appeal is that the pipe ranks were sampled from some of the world’s most notable organs. Seven discrete and independently voiceable organ suites represent the sounds of world-renown organ builders such as Herman L. Schlicker, Cavaillé-Coll, “Father” Henry Willis, amongst others.

Saint Pauls

Elkins Park, PA

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Elkins Park recently replaced their failing pipe organ with a new Allen three-manual instrument. The organ console is equipped with a moveable platform and an umbilical cord so the organ can be unplugged and moved to any location in their newly-renovated Nave. This custom installation is complete with speakers finished to match the existing structure, making them all but invisible. St. Paul’s music director, Mr. David Antony Lofton, uses this wonderful instrument to it’s fullest, as the congregation worships each week.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish

Doylestown, PA

The new Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Doylestown PA is the new home to a growing congregation and a new Allen Quantum three-manual organ. This marvelous instrument speaks clearly into the church for congregational singing, and is fitted with a Swell antiphonal division, useful for cantor and Sanctuary area support. The Allen Q-370 organ is part of a very clever design that utilizes it’s robust speaker system for choir instruments and keyboards use – fully integrated with the church’s new digital sound system through the Allen EAC interface. This wonderful project was the result of the collaborative efforts of KCBA Architects, Rudy Lucente consultant and hundreds of others working in concert with Msgr. Joseph Gentili and the members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

The Choir loft also is equipped with a beautiful Kawai digital baby grand piano.

Bryn Athyn Cathedral

Bryn Athyn, PA

The Bryn Athyn Cathedral, overlooking the picturesque Pennypack Creek Valley in Bryn Athyn Pennsylvania, is the home of a new Allen Q-410 custom organ. The Cathedral is no stranger to Allen instruments. Over the years they’ve experienced first hand the reliability and support experienced from organs they have rented and own. This wonderful instrument of 79-stops is finished in beautiful two-tone oak with rosewood sharps, coupler rocker tabs and drawknobs. It is equipped with a full antiphonal, and Allen’s Vista Navigator MIDI offering hundreds of additional sounds and a recording function. The Cathedral is also home to a vintage Schlicker organ, speaking from it’s elevated position perched to the left of the Chancel. The new Allen Organ is unique in that it is home for seven individual organs – from English Cathedral (Henry Willis) to French Romantic (Cavaillé-Col) and everything in between. Interestingly one of the suites on this comprehensive instrument is built of samples from instruments by the famous organ builder Herman L. Schlicker himself. Notable organs across the globe were painstakingly sampled note-by-note to design the various stoplists embodied within this console. Most organists agree that there is a definite advantage to performing music of a given period on instruments authentic to that period and builder.

With the new Allen Organ at the Gallery end of the Church, head organist Terry Schnarr and the music ministry at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral finally have space for the choir and other instruments.
